Mango-Avocado Salad with Panela Croutons

Apr 11, 2015 · by Valentina · 9 Comments

Mango-Avocado Salad with Panela Croutons is drizzled with delicious Chipotle Crema Mexicana. It's a main course salad that also works as a side or first course. Your guests begging for more!

This is a sponsored post by Cacique Inc. and Society Culinaria. As always, all opinions are my own.Mango-Avocado Salad with Panela Croutons in a yellow bowl

Panela Cheese Croutons

When you cut Cacique's Panela cheese and fry it over high heat in a bit of oil, you can sear it -- just as you would steak. No joke!

Rather than melt into a sauce, the surface of this delicious cheese caramelizes and becomes crisp. Fried Panela cheese is absolutely amazing!

When I tasted a fried piece of the Panela at the blogger immersion event Cacique headquarters, I was blown away.

If my eyes were closed, and I didn't know what I was eating, I might have thought it was a crisp piece of buttered toast. That is exactly what it tasted like. Hence, the Panela Croutons.

Ingredients for Mango-Avocado Salad with Panela Croutons on black backgroundI love how all of the fresh ingredients look together -- and they taste even better.

So when writing my third recipe for Cacique, I knew I had to include this fried Panela deliciousness, so I made croutons -- garlicky croutons!  And they're unbelievably tasty among the other ingredients in this salad.

When to Serve it

While this salad would be lovely as a side dish or first course, it’s a perfect entrée since it’s truly a meal unto itself. I might add a loaf of rustic bread, but that's it.

Mango-Avocado Salad is a mix of sweet and spicy, fresh and healthy, and crunchy and soft -- all at once! I think you will absolutely love it!

The recipe for this scrumptious Mango-Avocado Salad with Panela Croutons and Chipotle Crema Mexicana is currently being featured here on the Cacique USA blog.

Enjoy!

The croutons would also be a delicious twist in this Fried Lemon Caesar Salad.

I see panela in the corner Latin market near my house sitting right next to the other Cacique cheese I usually buy but I've never tried it. Sounds delicious. GREG

Fantastic recipe! I have seen Panela at the grocery store and never though to learn about the cheese. I welcome the introduction!
