These 4th of July Cookies are made with fresh strawberries, blueberries and white chocolate chips. Festive, fun and super delicious, they're totally natural red, white and blue cookies.Stack of 6 Strawberry-Blueberry White Chocolate Chip cookies with a few blueberries and strawberries in background.

Red, white and blue 4th of July cookies made with seasonal fresh fruit.

I wanted to make something fun for this fun summer holiday. And I wanted it to be a delightful, delicious treat to serve at your party, as well as something that's super easy for you to bring to any party you're invited to.

These cookies are fantastic any time -- so obviously you don't have to wait for the holiday. 😉

Ingredients for these 4th of July Cookies

  • unsalted butter
  • granulated sugar
  • brown sugar
  • salt
  • egg
  • pure vanilla extract
  • all-purpose flour
  • baking soda
  • lemon zest
  • fresh blueberries
  • fresh strawberries
  • white chocolate chips

How to Make Them

- In a large mixing bowl, combine the butter with both sugars, salt, vanilla and lemon zest. Add the egg and mix until it's completely blended in.
- Add in the flour and baking soda and mix just until it's incorporated.
- Then fold in the strawberries, blueberries and white chocolate.Bowl of unmixed Strawberry-Blueberry White Chocolate Chip cookie dough.

- Use two tablespoons or a cookie scoop to shape the dough, dropping it onto parchment paper-lined baking sheets as you go, with at least a couple of inches between them.Balls of Strawberry-Blueberry White Chocolate Chip cookie dough on a parchment llined baking sheet.

- Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes. While they’re refrigerating, preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Bake until the edges are beginning to turn a golden brown, about 12 minutes. Cool and serve.

Can you make them ahead?

  • I wish I could tell you that you could make these start to finish way ahead of time, but with the fresh fruit, they are the absolute best the same day they are baked.
  • You can however, make the batter ahead of time, and keep it refrigerated for up to 24 hours. (The best way to do this is to shape them first.)
  • You can bake them in the morning for the same afternoon or evening.

About halfway into the refrigeration time, preheat the oven to 350°F.

Do you think these would work with raspberries?

Hi Shannon. I haven't tried them with raspberries, but I think it would be delicious. Raspberries "bleed" more than strawberries, so you might see more of the red/pink seeping into the batter. Let us know how it goes if you try it. 🙂

Glad you reposed this, as I don’t think we had “met” at that time! These look wonderful!

You know, it’s funny... I am completely written through October now, and if you had asked me what day it was, I would have said August something... (because it is 107° outside!) But here it’s only June and the 4th of July is upon us! Happy 4th to you and your family!

Hi Dana, thanks for writing in. Yes, you can use lemon juice, although the lemon flavor might be weaker. I would add it along with the vanilla. Hope you enjoy! 🙂 ~Valentina

Deliciousness, Oh So Good, I substituted walnuts for strawberries (so as not to look so Patriotic in Oct. lol!) Have added these to my best cookie list! Thank You for Sharing Recipe.

Thank you so much for this lovely note. I’m so happy you enjoyed the cookies. The walnuts sound like a great addition/substitution. ~Valentina
